Problem solving software.
It is associated with cognitivist learning theory because it includes specific cognative strategies. In this problem solving exercise computer presents complex problem where by student improves the skill of problem solving whereby it reduces the problem of rote memorization. It promotes students thinking skill (logic, reasoning, patterns) and helps to think from simple to complex. This problem solving software is similar to simulation software but the difference is problem solving software is to teach problem solving strategies where as simulation attempt to model real life situation.
Integration with the lessons.
1. Designed to promote high order thinking.
2. provide learning goals and work schedule.
3. Allow students to explore and interact.
4. Demonstrate the step to solve problem.
5. let student to use in pair or group.
6. stress more on thinking process.
7. plan an activity to do.
8. let the student to do research by searching information that is in the software.
9. conduct follow-up presentation.
Multimedia encyclopedia and electronic books.
It store full text, still images, animation, audio and video. It can download vast content and relevant data. Electronic books present textual information for reading. (sounds, pictures and animations). It is also used as a tutor to learn a reading, spelling and word skills.
Integration with lesson.
1. Teacher preparation is must because this software usually sit passively.
2. Careful planning required.
3. demonstrate multi ways to search information.
4. Teacher have to give clear question that student can answer with a software.(both high level and low level question)

The difference is Problem solving software is more effective in problem solving lesson. Eg... maths lesson.

Seems like you have written in your words cos i could not find any sameness from the notes sir gave, which clearly shows that you have worked,read and understood what problem solving, multimedia encyclopedias and electronic books is..... the points are all clear and understandable, in pretext of reading your post and in disguise i am always gaining something new.
